Should you get married at Mildred's Temple Kitchen in Toronto?

Known in Toronto as one of the best brunch spots, Mildred's Temple Kitchen stopped dinner service on weekends and now devotes its Friday and Saturday evenings almost exclusively to weddings. It's airy, open space with large floor-to-ceiling windows comes with ample room for dancing and is one of the best restaurant wedding venues in the city (in our humble opinion).

Mildred's Temple Kitchen Wedding Costs (updated 2025)

What does it cost to get married at Mildred's Temple Kitchen? Mildred's has one of the most reasonable minimum spends across Toronto restaurants at just $18,000 before tax and gratuity (confirmed as of summer 2025). Food costs start at $95 per person - however, that does not include alcohol. All alcohol is charged by consumption; which adds variability into your final bill. Reddit Reviews

2025 review: Amazing experience at $95 per plate.

"We just had our wedding last weekend at Mildred's Temple kitchen and it was amazing. We did both our ceremony and reception in the same space. The drinks and food were really good and there's a space for the dance floor. Minimum spend for a Saturday was 18k and it was about $95 per plate. The event manager Michael is a dream to work with." u/Ok_Yak_9565 Reddit, 2025

2024 review: Intimate venue that is great for photography.

“Loved photographing a wedding at Mildreds. It's so intimate and cute. Canoe, Sassafraz, Cluny and Jump are also top notch.” u/jacquelinejamesphoto - Reddit, 2024

2023 review: Dedicated team and great food.

"70 people cost us just over $20k after tax and tip (~$15-16k before tax/tip). I feel it’s a great space for a reception and they have a whole team dedicated for this. For wedding food it’s great and you can even get their pancakes!" u/smurfonarocket - Reddit, 2023

2023 review: Best venue experience of all Toronto options explored.

“Mildred’s Temple Kitchen was pretty reasonable, I think Saturday min spend is right at 15k. Their event coordinator was really lovely and so on top of things. We ended up going a very different direction (PEC) but it was the best experience we had of the venues we connected with in Toronto.” u/bimbo_mom - Reddit, Reddit 2023

Review from our own wedding planner, Lauren: Couldn't choose a better venue.

“As someone who lives and breathes weddings, it was easy to pick Mildred's for our day. We wanted an intimate experience with incredible food and service, which they delivered above and beyond. The coordinator - Michael - was responsive and organized. Fun fact: even though we got married in 2018, he is still their in-house coordinator today! A photograph of me prancing around the industrial background of Liberty Village in a big white dress hangs front and center in my office.” Lauren, Wedding Planner with Aido

About Mildred's Temple Kitchen

Nestled in Liberty Village, Mildred boasts stacks of blueberry pancakes and out-the-door brunch lines. The restaurant is modern with open architecture, high ceilings, and wood tones throughout. With an open kitchen concept, guests can watch their meals being created while lingering at the bar or waiting between speeches.

Pros:

  • Restaurant-quality food (including their blueberry pancakes)
  • Patio, sit-down dinner area, and dance floor
  • You get the entire restaurant to yourself
  • Minimal additional decor is needed, as the venue is well decorated and includes use of their candles
  • Nearby Exhibition GO for guests who take public transit
  • The long shape of the restaurant makes for a natural aisle, but note that guests will be in their dinner seats for the ceremony

Cons:

  • No included parking. There is a paid underground lot nearby which you can pre-purchase tickets for, or guests can find paid street parking
  • Consumption-based alcohol
  • Pro tip: it can be a bit confusing for out-of-town guests who don't know Liberty Village to find the exact restaurant, as it is secluded off the main road down a walking-only path. We recommend including a map on your wedding website or invite!

Key Venue Details

Mildred's provides in-house coordination for all venue-related aspects of the night (menus, tastings, place settings, etc.). As the venue comes decorated and includes use of their candles, most couples only opt to add florals for additional decor. You can also make fun use of the chalkboards with one of their recommended chalkboard artists!

Unlike many restaurants, Mildred's layout has a natural dance floor that is slightly elevated above the seated dinner area below - making it easy for guests to dance, mingle at the bar, or get a break sitting down at their table.

Capacity:

Mildred's can accommodate 100 guests for sit-down dinners and up to 200 for cocktail receptions. They have a smaller outdoor patio licensed for 45 guests, which can be used by guests to get fresh air throughout the evening.

  • Restaurant
  • Downtown Toronto
